EOTYJ (End of the Year Jam) June 1st Odd Fellows Hall - 6:30pm

The year flew by and it's time to show how we've progressed. The idea of it petrifies the new players but those who have lived through it will tell the newbies that it's actually fun! Because I have so many students, this will be largely a jam for the newer students and the kids who've been with me a longer time and who are more accomplished will be playing more complicated solo pieces. By the time you reach this level, you look forward to performing. This is why it's important for the younger ones to come and see what happens as you get better. I'm proud of all my students.

Summer Rock School Camps

Having 50 guitar students made me realize that we have a lot of talent in this part of the world and there must be some drummers, bass players, keyboard players and singers who would like to play in a band with these 6 stringers.

Having spent half my life in a reahearsal I decided to pass along my experience and create a fun atmosphere for the young rockers of Ladner/Tsawwassen.

We had a great time at Rock School in 2006 and the kids learned a ton. I learned plenty too. In 2006 we had our final concert at Sharkey's Grille in November and it couldn't have gone better! It was standing room only and the kids played their hearts out to the apprectiation of the standing room only crowd.

HOLLY HELLS

In 2007 I had 5 bands so we needed more space for the final concert. I rented the Ladner Community Centre at the end of Oct and stepped up production with lights, a pro sound sytem and a pro sound man. We had over 200 people there and it was great. The kids all stepped up and put on a great show, playing to the best of their ability.

I'm accepting applications for this year. My challenge remains to put the same level/age of kids together. I don't want a 15 year old bass player playing with a 10 year old drummer - s'not gonna work. When you register give me all your possible dates - that'll give me the best chance to do it right.

i'm going to have a few bands playing at May Days this year - I couldn't get as much time as I wanted.

Have a look at the float we did in the Ladner May Days Parade in summer '07 with the band Bleech.
